Hi! My name is Lakisha Dunbar Collins and I am so excited to once again be a part of the Redemptorist St. Gerard family, and I am eager to teach second grade. I have twelve years of teaching experience, which include ten years of preschool experience and one year of first grade teaching experience. I also worked as a Reading Interventionist in the City of Baker School System. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Southern University in English and I have a Child Care Provider Certification from Ashworth College. Furthermore, I am currently completing my Louisiana State Certification in PreK-3rd grades. I am dedicated to the education of young children, and it is my belief that all children have the ability to learn. Therefore, it is my goal to provide a challenging, yet enjoyable learning environment. I am positive that my education and past experiences, combined with my patience and dedication will lead to a successful school year.
